- If a member I'm treating requests a Subject Access Request (SAR) - what information is shared with them? Personal clinical information is shared with a member who has initiated a SAR. This means that your clinical record (any notes you have saved as a clinical record of the treatment you’ve given) can be shared. You would review this record before it’s shared and can redact any information you feel would have a negative or damaging effect on your member (this needs to be verified by another health professional). The member summary, if the member has chosen to use this feature, is also shared as part of this SAR (this information has, of course, already been shared with the member).
The transcript used to generate the summaries, any audio or video clips of therapy are not shared with the member as these contain data beyond just the scope of the clinical record, for example, data about you the therapist, and could be taken out of context if shared.
- Do I get to see and edit the information that is shared for a SAR? You would review your clinical record before it’s shared with the member and can redact any information you feel would have a negative or damaging effect on your member (this needs to be verified by another health professional). The member summary is also shared as part of this SAR (this information has, of course, already been shared with the member).
